Rules: Read First

Post by Divine Angle on Wed Sep 02, 2015 12:11 am

Welcome to the ever Expanding Dimensions, an online roleplay set in an ever expanding universe!

Or in an ever expanding set of dimensions. Whatever terminology you prefer.

There are, obviously by the title of this thread, rules to be followed when roleplaying here and to use this roleplay.

1: Respect Each Other

First and foremost, respect your fellow roleplayers. Literally nothing else will ruin a fun roleplay faster than everybody being disrespectful because they don't connect the facts that people posting are real people behind the screen. Not saying people don't realize this, but it seems way too easy to treat people terribly just because we're on the internet.

You are by no means required to like anybody here. Just be respectful, don't fight, don't start shit, etc. If you don't like someone, then just avoid them if at all possible, or deal with your issues privately.

Basically, this rule can be summed up as; "Don't be a fuckwad."

2: Be Literate

More so legible than literate, but being literate is important. This is an English roleplay, so being literate and legible in terms of writing the English language is helpful.

It is not the staff's responsibility to make your writing and posts legible. If it's not fully legible, or if there's enough errors to make it difficult to understand you, you'll be contacted by staff about it. Repeated shows of illiteracy and illegibility will result in warnings and/or disciplinary action.

If your first language isn't English, let us know when you join, please. The staff will try to help you where they can, but remember that even if English isn't your first language, we cannot help you with everything. And if your posts and writings are just straight up impossible to understand, we really can't help at all.

3: Don't Godmod/Godmode/Powerplay

Don't feckin' do it.

Just don't.

This is such a universally agreed upon rule, that really, this should be a no brainer. But to be clear:

Godmodding is anytime when you make it to where your character cannot ever be harmed; Anytime you dictate how your actions affect another player's characters with no input from the other player; When you control another player's character(s); When your characters have access to information they wouldn't have.

There are other things, but this is the gist of it.

Don't do it.

4: Get Approved

Your characters that you make need to be approved by staff before you can use them.

... Not much else to this, it's just necessary. If you use a character that hasn't been approved, the character will not be approved (Even if they would have been had you waited) until further notice, and disciplinary action will be taken.

To Be Updated

These rules will be updated and edited as needed. They are, at this time, most likely incomplete.

Post below any questions you have about the rules, or anything else you have to say about them.
